Disney's Well Kept Secrets

Yup!  Its a secret.  We were in Orlando for 1 week and never once saw Disney's two mini golf courses advertised.  They are absolutely amazing!!!  Even more so, because hardly anyone knows about them.  There were very few people playing them... especially when you consider how busy Downtown Disney is.  People just don't know that they are there.  We even had trouble finding them and had to ask for directions, but Boy, are we glad we did!!!  What fun!

Len and I love mini putt to begin with, but these courses are the ultimate!

Fantasia Gardens

The Fairways Course  -  Len loved this one the best because it resembled a real golf course.  There weren't any concrete edges to this one, and the greens were the longest we've ever seen on a mini putt.  This was by far the most advanced of the courses and probably the most fun for avid golfers and the least fun for children.

The Gardens Course -  This was more whimsical.  Definately of interest to both adults and children, with a musical theme from the movie "Fantasia".  There were even some water splashing surprises.  We were also given a free souvenier golf ball at the end of this course.

An unexpected, but delightful touch, were these Mickey Mouse ice cream treats that we purchased at Fantasia Gardens.

 We love Mickey!

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf

Sand Course - This was my favourite!  It resembles a jet-stream trailer park.
We got to this golf course at dusk.  This is a great time to play because you get to see it in both daylight and at night.  There are christmas lights strung from all the trees and a Christmas / Santa workshop type theme.
The landscaping on this one is amazing, as are the obsticals you have to putt around.  There are fish that spray water at you as you cross a small food bridge.  You have to putt your ball across a moving draw bridge to a huge sand castle.  The golf turf is not your typical green, but a variety of colours.  For someone as visual as myself, I absolutely loved it!  A whimsical feast for the eyes!!!

Len just being Goofy!

Snow Course - This one is very similar to the Sand Course, except that it has a winter theme.  I loved the hole that resembled pond hockey.  There was another hole with a Christmas tree with a moving train circling at its base.  You had to putt between the train cars to the hole at the tree base.

This post isn't actually one of my 50 by 50 goals other than it was at the same time as we visited Epcot.  We had so much fun, for very little money (comparatively), that I wanted to share it.
